Mr. Bavol graduated Stetson University college of Law in May 2000. While at Stetson, Mr. Bavol was a member of the National Champion Mock trial team and was awarded the Victor O. Wehle Award for excellence in Trial Advocacy. After Graduating from Stetson, Mr. Bavol was an Assistant State Attorney in Bradenton, Florida prosecuting misdemeanor and juvenile crimes. While at that office, Mr. Bavol conducted 18 jury trials and over forty non-jury trials.
In 2002, Mr. Bavol left the State Attorney's Office and became an Assistant Public Defender in Pasco County, Florida. While at that office, Mr. Bavol tried over thirty felony jury trials and handled all types of felony cases with extensive experience in DUI and DUI with serious bodily injury, Domestic Violence, Drug Violations including trafficking in narcotics, Sex Crimes, Murder, Theft, Fraud and violations of probation.
Mr. Bavol has instructed both new and experienced assistant public defenders in trial advocacy at the Public Defender's College and the Advanced Public Defender's College.
Mr. Bavol also serves his country as a Captain in the Florida Army National Guard. Mr. Bavol is the Operational Law Judge Advocate for the 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team where he provides legal counsel to the commander and legal support to soldiers. Mr. Bavol was actively involved and participated in recovery efforts during the 2004 to 2005 Hurricane Season, where Florida was hit by eight hurricanes. Mr. Bavol earned the Army Achievement Medal for his efforts in 2005.
Mr. Bavol was born in Asheville, North Carolina. Prior to college, Mr. Bavol enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and participated in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
