Mr. Kerr is a 2005 graduate of Florida State University College of Law. While at FSU College of Law, Mr. Kerr was member of the mock trial team and attended a summer law program at Oxford University in England. While in Oxford, Mr. Kerr received an award in Comparative Criminal Procedure. In addition, while at FSU College of Law, he volunteered for the Innocence Project reviewing D.N.A. evidence in criminal cases in hopes of overturning false convictions.
After passing the Florida Bar Mr. Kerr, accepted a job in Orlando at the Public Defender's Office in the 9th Judicial Circuit. Mr. Kerr began in misdemeanor court representing hundreds of clients with charges ranging from DUI to Domestic Violence. Mr. Kerr was the first in his class to move to felony court defending clients with charges ranging from felony Driving While License Suspended to Trafficking in Cocaine. In addition, Mr. Kerr was featured in an article in the Orlando Sentinel on public attorneys. Upon leaving the Public Defender's Office, Mr. Kerr accepted a job at the State Attorney's Office in Sarasota County. During his time as prosecutor, Mr. Kerr researched and handled various issues pertaining to DUI in Sarasota County.
Mr. Kerr brings to The Law Offices of Robert Eckard & Associates the unique experience of handling hundreds of cases from both the prosecution and defense point of view. Using his experience Seth will be able to pinpoint the strengths of his client's cases and the weaknesses of the prosecution's argument.
Mr. Kerr is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
