Since joining the Law Office of Robert Eckard & Associates, P.A. in March, 2010, Attorney Michael “Mike” Ziegler has represented consumer and commercial clients in foreclosure defense, bankruptcy, collection matters, and various other civil litigation issues. Attorney Ziegler’s focus, when working with his clients, is to understand their individual situation; a remedy that may work for one client may not be the right fit for another. In the course of his representation, Attorney Ziegler has negotiated loan modifications, waivers of deficiency, and debt settlements, among other relief. Attorney Ziegler has spoken on the topic of mortgage foreclosure at the “People’s Law School,” presented by the Clearwater Bar Association.
Prior to joining The Law Office of Robert Eckard and Associates, P.A., Attorney Ziegler served a financially sensitive client base as an advocate at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid. Attorney Ziegler represented clients in foreclosure defense cases implementing legal strategies based on TILA, RESPA, FCCPA, FDCPA, securitized trust issues, VA and FHA insured mortgage servicing issues, and the negotiability of instruments. Additionally, Attorney Ziegler represented clients in other consumer law issues, including credit card collection defense, vehicle repossession deficiency defense, and complex class action litigation.
Attorney Ziegler graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2008. During law school, he supplemented his academic pursuits with practical experience, establishing a strong foundation of legal skills. In his second year of law school, Attorney Ziegler worked as a Certified Legal Intern with the Office of the Public Defender, Fourth Judicial Circuit. Subsequently, Attorney Ziegler clerked at The Schwartz Law Group, a general practice law firm. Attorney Ziegler completed his undergraduate education at Pennsylvania State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Crime, Law, and Justice.
Mike Ziegler is currently admitted to practice in the State of Florida and the Middle District of Florida. He is active in the Clearwater Bar Association and the Palm Harbor Rotary Club.
